A couple of days ago, whilst covering one of the many Spanish Vicente Iborra claims around right, we explained it seems clear someone is pushing information to the country’s media about interest in signing the player.
Recent claims started with Levante interest and then moved on to Sevilla, with Marca saying there was a telephone call last Friday about the potential transfer.
The Spanish newspaper also made efforts to rekindle a love story between the midfielder and Sevilla, showing him making a rather bad love heart with his hands, in the kit, and stating: ‘Vicente Iborra left Sanchez-Pizjuán bathed in tears. It was his farewell to the second club of his life – after his beloved Levante – the one that had put him in the international showcase and in which he had lifted three Europa Leagues in one of the most golden times of the Andalusian club. He never closed the door on his return and both parties seem destined to meet again. In summer there was a shy attempt. Now, due to the injury of Gonalons, Sevilla has knocked on his door again.’
Marca say Villarreal, just like Sevilla, tried in the summer, and will now make another attempt in December. Iborra is their ‘first option’ and the player wants to ‘find a solution’ for his future in January, knowing ‘options won’t be lacking’ for a return to La Liga.
Leicester’s (alleged) strong not-for-sale stance from the summer is once again referenced, and it’s claimed that now there’s hope a loan would be accepted.
Given someone is constantly telling the Spanish media just how wanted Iborra is, it’s a surprise they can’t find a club willing to go for a permanent deal.
