Leicester City’s Rachid Ghezzal joined Fiorentina on a season-long loan deal on deadline day of the summer window and the Serie A side have an option to make his transfer permanent.
The 27-year-old hasn’t got enough opportunities this campaign and has started in only three matches (10 appearances) in all competitions.
Due to a lack of minutes at Fiorentina, the Foxes were hoping to find a new club for the Algeria international in the winter market.
Today’s edition of Belgian newspaper Het Belang van Limburg explains the Premier League club offered Anderlecht an opportunity to sign the winger on loan deal until the end of the season.
Unfortunately for Brendan Rodgers’ side, Anderlecht ‘did not respond’ to Leicester’s proposal to take Ghezzal.
The African player’s contract at King Power Stadium expires in 2022 and whether the English club will find another club for him on deadline day remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, HBVL reports the Jupiler Pro League side will sign Juventus’ Marko Pjaca to strengthen their attacking division.
