The Polish media now reveals Leicester City’s interest in Red Bull Salzburg player Kamil Piatkowski.
The report was made by journalist Tomasz Włodarczyk to outlet Meczyki, claiming the Foxes have entered the race for that signing.
“Leicester City joined the game for Kamil Piątkowski! I will say this – I can see it (makes sense) because the English asked about Jakub Kiwior earlier,” he said.
As Dutch website 1908 covers the news, they highlight that Feyenoord had also been interested in the player. They claim that the Eredivisie side would like to sign the 22-year-old on loan with an option to buy.
That could be a sign that Leicester City would be better positioned in case they submit a straight offer for a purchase. However, it may be too early to talk about that, since there are no claims about the Foxes actually making a move for the signing.
Signed by Red Bull Salzburg in a €5m deal in 2021, Piatkowsky has been able to impress at the Austrian club, but has been struggling to play this season, mostly because of a muscle injury which left him sidelined for most games.
That’s why he only has four appearances so far, but that doesn’t seem to be a concern for the interested clubs.
