Negotiations between Leicester City and Bayer Leverkusen for Demarai Gray are ongoing, but the Germans are positive they can get a deal done.
Gray has been linked with a move to the Bundesliga side for several weeks, with him currently out of the picture under Brendan Rodgers.
His contract expires in the summer and, so, Leicester are keen to move him on this month and secure a transfer fee as opposed to losing him on a free.
Leverkusen are keen to take him, but initial reports indicated that they were trying to bring down Leicester’s asking price, which was thought to be around €2m.
That changed three days ago when it was reported in Germany that Leverkusen had made an official bid for Gray and were hoping to conclude a €3m deal this week.
Those negotiations are ongoing according to Sky Sports Germany, with journalist Max Bielefeld reporting that the two teams are ‘trying to find an agreement’ for the move to happen before deadline day.
He says there are ‘positive feelings’ from both clubs that they close the deal before deadline day, with this very much one to keep an eye as that approaches.
