The Argentine media on Tuesday fell into line with earlier reports Sport Witness covered from El Dia on Juan Foyth to Tottenham.
There’s widespread agreement that Foyth to Tottenham is ‘hours’ away, with various different ways of terming it.
It’s worth noting that phrases such as ‘coming hours’ and ‘in the next few hours’ are often used in the Spanish language media and very rarely should they be taken literally, it simply means something is close.
A little like the use of mañana.
Cielo Sports, who give no credit to El Dia and present this information as their own, say there’s only ‘legal procedures’ to sort out and Foyth will become a Tottenham player ‘within hours’.
A good clue that shouldn’t be taken literally is there’s not even mention of a medical. For Foyth to become a Tottenham player all the paperwork needs to be exchanged, then there’s the long flight to London, and then the defender must go through a medical.
Considering how long it’s taking with Davinson Sanchez, it’s got to be considered unlikely Foyth would be complete this week.
