Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has praised the form of teammates Marcus Antonsson and Chris Wood. The Championship side have turned their season around in recent weeks after a poor start by Garry Monk’s team.
Speaking to the Yorkshire Post, Philips highlighted the side had two good forwards in Antonsson and Wood following their recent impressive form.
However, Philips believes Wood has been the standout forward at the club after scoring seven goals in eleven games. Philips said the New Zealand international isn’t getting carried away, and has been level headed about his recent form.
“We’ve got Marcus who is in good form as well but there is no stopping Chris when he is in form like this. He is level-headed and, while he doesn’t show that he is proper buzzing, you can tell that he is,” said the Leeds United youngster.
Leeds United recorded just one win their first six games, but have won three in a row in the past few weeks. Wood has been instrumental in this with his goals, and will go into the game with Bristol City this week full of confidence.
