Leeds United did well to get the Kiko Casilla transfer over line when they did.
News came from Spain on Friday that Keylor Navas is injured and could be facing around four weeks out. With former Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois having his own fitness worries of late, if the Navas injury have been discovered earlier then there’s a chance Casilla wouldn’t now be in Yorkshire.
Victor Orta was given credit in the Spanish sport media for getting the transfer over line, and he’s reportedly got his eye on other targets as Leeds United plan ahead of future transfer windows.
Pucela Fichajes (via Scouts Attending) reported this week that Leeds are keen on two Real Valladolid players.
Toni Villa is one. He’s a 24 year old attacking midfielder, and has a contract with the club lasting until June 2021.
The other is Ruben Alcaraz, a 27 year old central midfielder, with a deal until 2022.
The Championship club sent someone to watch the club against Getafe this week, but Toni Villa didn’t play. It’s therefore claimed they could be back at the weekend against Levante.
Leeds are said to be looking for signings to help them should they clinch Premier League promotion. Real Valladolid, currently 14th in La Liga, don’t intend to negotiate and would point to the buyout clause, €12m for each player.
