Turkish side Osmanlıspor are close to signing Leeds United’s Souleymane Doukara, claim Turkey’s Fanatik.
After selling Chris Wood to Burnley, Leeds United look to be on the verge of losing another forward, but this one won’t have much impact on the team. The 25 year old has been also been linked with a move to Preston North End and Rangers.
It’s been claimed the Turkish side are ‘in final stages of negotiations’ with Leeds United, and a transfer ‘will be announced shortly’.
Osmanlıspor have also been linked with Newcastle United forward Emmanuel Riviere, but according to Fanatik, Doukara will be the one to arrive at the club before the window closes.
After losing their opening two games this season, Osmanlıspor are hoping to bring in a forward before next week’s deadline.
Doukara played 34 Championship games for Leeds United last season, scoring 6 goals, but he’s not started a game so far in this campaign. The Senegalese is expected to play tonight against Newport County in the EFL Cup, which could be his last game for Leeds United.
Doukara is contracted to the Championship club until 2018.
The Turkish media, just like here in the UK, can be somewhat excitable when it comes to transfers, and optimistic on behalf of their own clubs.
