Leeds United probably feel they closed the summer window without everything they’d wanted.

Towards the end of August they’d been working on a deal to sign Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven but weren’t able to convince the player and his club that a move was in their best interests.

Leeds quickly moved on to Bamba Dieng, who they thought they had secured. Andrea Radrizzani even took to Twitter to say the Marseille man should be welcomed, despite some supporters still holding for Gakpo.

Marseille agreed to sell Dieng to Leeds in a late deal, but he then decided he wanted to move to Nice instead, only to fail a medical with the Ligue 1 club.

Ahead of January it makes sense for the Whites to be looking at signing an attacker, and Calciomercato say they’re ‘on the trail’ of Noah Okafor, who is also of interest to Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund.

The 22-year-old currently plays for Red Bull Salzburg and can operate as a striker or anywhere across the front three.
