NEC star Anthony Limbombe was yesterday omitted from his side’s clash with Hannover 96, and may now have played his last game for the Dutch club. The Leeds United target this morning will be attending a disciplinary hearing after refusing to train on Friday, with reports he’s trying to force a move this summer.
Limbombe has been one of NEC’s standout payer in the past 12 months, but since January the 21-year-old has shown a desire to leave the club. The youngster is keen to make the step up in his career, and since informing his club he wants to leave he’s been linked with a number of clubs, including Leeds United.
Following the events on Friday Limbombe was left out of this weekend’s 5-2 defeat to Hannover despite key NEC players being involved in the pre-season friendly with the German side.
With today’s hearing and his non-involvement in yesterday’s game there will be huge question marks over his future with NEC, and a move could now be imminent.
Leeds United have been linked with Limbombe since last summer when they had an offer rejected by NEC for the young Belgian. There have been recent claims Leeds United have made a bid for the attacker, but they will face competition from other clubs across Europe.
