Leeds United target Tobias Figueiredo continues to have his future at Sporting very uncertain.
Although the player has had a few chances to play in the past few months, the rumours of a departure were relaunched last weekend, when A Bola said ‘the ball was in Leeds court’.
The report claimed Sporting continue to demand €3-4m for the defender, and there didn’t seem to be any possible competition for the Whites in the race.
Now Tobias gets another mention, this time in Record, saying the player is indeed a hot topic for the January transfer window.
Once again, Leeds are the only club mentioned as an ‘alternative’ for the player, but it’s said there are other options on the table being analysed.
Tobias is currently Jorge Jesus’ fourth option for defence, and there’s no big concern about him leaving. Especially because then Sporting would anticipate the arrival of Marcelo, who should be moving from Rio Ave in the summer.
Although Leeds United keep being listed as Tobias’ most likely destination, there are no big news of negotiations.
And only a ‘good bid’ will take him from Sporting, which is a bargaining position the Portuguese side will have trouble sticking to.
