A few days ago the Hamburger Morgenpost reported Pierre-Michel Lasogga’s concerns over a move to Leeds United.
Lasogga had been keen to make the move to Elland Road, and was even in Leeds last weekend ahead of a potential move to the Championship club.
As the same German newspaper had pointed out, Lasogga was keen on Leeds United, the club were keen on him, and Hamburg were certainly keen to offload some of the player’s wages from their accounts.
Then Lasogga was ‘wobbling’ and the reason for that was Chris Wood. Fearing that Wood was set to remain at Elland Road, Lasogga was having second thoughts about battling with the New Zealand forward, and saw little point in spending a season on the Leeds bench.
Wood’s effort to get his move to Burnley, refusing to play for Leeds United this weekend, makes Lasogga to Leeds increasingly likely.
There still remains the issue over what percentage of wages Leeds will take on, with hints in Hamburg the English club are looking for a bargain, but without Wood, Lasogga’s Elland Road arrival would be clearer.
