It appears the stories claiming that Leeds United are interested in Bartlomej Dragowski from Spezia are simply refusing to go away.

We have covered a few of them over the past few weeks, and Il Secolo XIX, relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb, insist the Elland Road side are after the Polish goalkeeper at a time when Illan Meslier has been himself touted for a move abroad.

It’s made clear that Leeds are in ‘pole position’ to acquire the 26-year-old goalkeeper, but need to make sure their current shot stopper goes to Celta Vigo first.

Only once that move is complete will Leeds go after Dragowski, but there could be competition, with Rennes entering the mix.

His agent, Marius Kulesza, is said to have ‘opened up’ to the idea of a move to France, and the Ligue 1 side could give him the game time he wants to be able to ensure he makes the Poland squad for this summer’s Euros.

Once a guaranteed starter for Spezia, the Leeds target lost his spot at the end of November, with Jeroen Zoet taking over, which is why he is now looking for a new club to get minutes under his belt to showcase his ability.
