Signed by Leeds United and immediately sent to Cultural Leonesa in Spain’s second division to get some time on the pitch, Yosuke Ideguchi’s season isn’t exactly going to plan.

The 21-year-old, who was expected to feature regularly for the La Liga2 side, has only made five appearances since his move, starting just one of them, and is now out of the team completely.

Either on the bench or in the stands for the past six games, the Leeds loanee is struggling to have the impact required, with the language barrier undoubtedly playing against him.

Well, this weekend could be the perfect time to turn things around, as Cultural face Barcelona’s B team in what Marca see as a ‘final’.

Ideguchi’s side are currently 19th in the 22 team league, while the La Liga leaders’ reserves are just four points ahead of them in 17th.

It would take a lot this week for Ideguchi to earn a spot in the first-team, but there’s no doubt he’ll be yearning to be on that field, and Leeds will also want to see their £500k investment actually play some football too.
