After releasing a few bits of the interview with Leeds United star Marc Roca on Twitter, Catalan outlet Mundo Deportivo now brings the full conversation on their website.
As previously covered by Sport Witness, the player talked about his arrival at the Elland Road side this season, as well as the possibilities he has for his future.
It turns out Roca also had an interesting question to answer, which was regarding the club he’d join back in Catalonia once he leaves Leeds.
The midfielder spent years at Espanyol’s academy, and has been previously linked with a move to local rivals Barcelona. Asked if he’d fancy a move to the Camp Nou, he claims that’s not something easy to answer.
“In the future you never know. You never know what is going to happen in life,” Marc Roca told Mundo Deportivo.
“It’s a difficult question to answer, but I’m from Espanyol, I feel like I’m from Espanyol, I’m super grateful to the club and I’m telling you, what I want is, in the future, to be able to retire at Espanyol, which is the club that gave it to me. It has given everything, the club that has given me the opportunity to play in the first division, that has seen me grow and is the club that I love.”
But that’s something about a long-term future, as Roca already claimed he’s happy to be at Leeds United, who he joined last summer following a €12m move from Bayern Munich.
The 26-year-old managed to have a quick adaptation to English football, soon conquering a space in the Whites’ midfield, and already has 22 appearances for the Premier League side. His contract runs until 2026.
