Leeds United allowed Samuel Sáiz to rejoin his former club Getafe on loan for the second half of this season.
As a part of the deal, the Spanish club have a purchase option to make the forward’s transfer permanent in the summer, but that looks unlikely if several reports in England are to be believed.
On March 6th, we covered a report from Marca, who explained the 28-year-old is in conflict with the Championship side as he wants to continue in Spain beyond this campaign, while the Whites want him back at the club for next season.
Thursday’s edition of Spanish newspaper AS once again relays what was mentioned in England, that Getafe are not interested in taking the option of signing Saiz for €6.5m after this term.
His current deal at Elland Road runs down in 2021, but AS claims sources close to the player suggests that Saiz wants to join another La Liga club, if Getafe don’t make his move permanent.
If the two reports from Marca and AS are to be believed, it’s clear that the player is not looking forward returning to Leeds.
