Leeds United had an official at the Champions League clash between Benfica and RB Leipzig last night.
The official scouting list for this game has been published by journalist Bruno Andrade on his Twitter account.
Several other English sides also attended the game, including Arsenal, Bournemouth, Chelsea, Everton, Leicester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Watford.
But there are two reasons why Leeds United’s name stands out. Firstly, because they’re the only Championship side, and also because they’re not really frequent visitors at Benfica, unlike most of the clubs mentioned in that list.
Leeds haven’t really been linked to any Benfica or RB Leipzig player lately, so it’s hard to guess who could they be keeping an eye on last night.
Since this is the first fixture of the Champions League’s group stage, perhaps the Elland Road side have a plan to be watching more European matches this season, ahead of future transfer windows.
Lista de olheiros na Luz para Benfica-Leipzig. Imaginei agora um encontro de todos no pré-jogo para um cafezinho. Curiosidade: o que estaria a fazer o profissional do Famalicão? pic.twitter.com/gIJ01gJhlp
