Dundee forward Kane Hemmings has joined Oxford United for a reported seven figure fee after being chased by a number of clubs in recent weeks. The former Rangers forward has been linked with a move to Leeds United this summer after impressing for the SPL club last season.
The Dundee Evening Telegraph have confirmed Hemmings has joined Oxford United on a three-year contract despite recent reports he would be staying with Dundee for next season. Dundee have released a statement saying they’d come to an agreement with the Division One club for an undisclosed fee.
“Dundee Football Club can today confirm that an agreement has been reached with Oxford United for the transfer of Kane Hemmings for an undisclosed fee,” said a spokesperson at the SPL club.
Hemmings scored 25 goals for the Dundee last season, which brought him to the attention of clubs in England, including Leeds United.
Hemmings is now likely to take the place of Kemar Roofe, who joined Leeds United from Oxford United in this transfer window.
