Algeria’s DZ Foot reports Leeds United are ‘very interested’ in signing Baghdad Bounedjah from Al Sadd.
In an article on Monday evening, the Algerian football source reports a ‘firm offer’ has been made to both the club and player to try and close a transfer to the Yorkshire side.
Interestingly, it’s stated Lille have also been interested in signing the player. That would provide a Marcelo Bielsa connection, with the Argentine manager having a spell at the French club last season.
Leeds United are presented as a club super keen on promotion who have a big appetite to spend in the current transfer window.
The first offer to the player is said to have been knocked back, because Bounedjah wants to earn a salary close to what he’s on at Al Sadd.
Leeds aren’t giving up and they could get a boost if Atletico Madrid’s Gabi moves to Al Sadd, because they may then need to let a non local player go.
Baghdad Bounedjah is 26 years of age, and an Algeria international striker.
