Manchester City youngster Bersant Celina has confirmed he wants a loan move to a Championship club this summer. The Kosovo international has been linked with a move to Leeds United, along with Bolton Wanderers and Ipswich Town.
Speaking to NRK, Celina was asked about his future, and the interest from the three Championship sides.
The Manchester City owned playmaker said he’d accept playing in the second tier following his loan spell with FC Twente last season, and could move to one of the three interested clubs.
NRK named Leeds United, Bolton Wanderers and Ipswich Town when questioning the player, which led to the 18 year old saying: “The plan is to play in the Championship. I’ll try to find a club. It will be one of them . So, we’ll see.”
Earlier this month Celina confirmed to the Norwegian media Bolton are interested in signing him, and that he would welcome the move. However, it seems Leeds United are trying to hijack his move to their Championship rivals following claims in Norway, and also Kosovo, he could head to Elland Road this summer.
A move to either Leeds United or Bolton may make more sense, given the player is based in the North West with Manchester City, and a decision on his future should be made soon.
