Leeds United are keen on Bayer Leverkusen striker Adam Hlozek and could use Crysencio Summerville as bait to get him.
That’s according to SportBILD, who say the German champions are more than interested in Summerville after his performances this season.
The newspaper explains that Leverkusen are expecting a busy summer of business as they continue to strengthen their squad for Xabi Alonso as they take on the Champions Leaue.
While players are expected to arrive, there will also be outgoings and Hlozek is one of those likely to depart after failing to make his mark on the team in his second season.
He still has a good reputation in Europe after his strong performances for Sparta Prague before moving to Leverkusen in 2022, and a deal worth around €10m is likely.
Lazio and Roma have already shown an interest from Italy while Leeds are one of the sides showing an interest in him from England.
And the suggestion is that Summerville could be a part of proceedings as Leverkusen are very impressed by him thanks to his 19 goals in 41 games for Leeds this season.
The idea is that he could be part of a deal for Hlozek, and a ‘settlement’ reached, although we can’t see that personally.
Leeds know they have a star on their hands in Summerville and the idea that he won’t be the protagonist of his own major transfer deal but part of a deal involving someone else doesn’t make sense.
Perhaps it’s just optimism from Leverkusen thinking they can get him on the cheap and use Hlozek to do so, which again, we can’t see anyone at Elland Road falling for.
