IFK Norrkoping defender Linus Wahlqvist has told the Swedish media he’s received interest from other clubs. The 20-year-old has again been linked with Leeds United in recent months after nearly signing for the Championship side in the summer.

Speaking to NT, Wahlqvist was asked about his future with IFK, and whether other clubs have come in for him. The Sweden international confirmed clubs are following him, but at the moment no offers have been tabled.

Wahlqvist said he’s not in a rush to leave IFK, because of his age, but still expects to be linked with other clubs because he’s playing in the Swedish top flight.

“There’s Interest all the time, but there’s nothing concrete. Let’s see what happens. Changes happen easily, it can go fast, I take it as it comes. I like it here and I can do very well playing for IFK until my contract expires. But if you’re 20 and playing in the Allsvenskan there is always interest,” said the Leeds United target.

Last week it was revealed in the Swedish press Leeds United were close to signing Wahlqvist in the summer, which would have made him the third Swede to be signed by Garry Monk in that window.

The youngster was again linked with Leeds United in November following claims they were lining up a bid for the player in the January window.
