Italian website Tutto Mercato Web has an interesting piece on a youngster they present as Leeds United’s latest target.
The outlet says the Whites are interested in Benfica wonderkid Florentino Luís, who’s been linked to several European giants over the past year.
The reason for an Italian source to be reporting the news is that AC Milan had been following the midfielder, and should now feel threatened by Leeds joining the chasing pack.
Tutto Mercato Web claims that this chase started in February, and the English side held ‘some remote meetings’ during the pandemic.
There’s since further progress, with Leeds holding ‘a meeting a week ago’ with the player’s agent to formulate an ‘action plan’.
Florentino Luís is protected by a release clause of €120m, which Tutto Mercato Web claims to be exaggerated, since he’d cost between €20m and €30m.
It’s said an offer from Leeds hasn’t been been formulated yet, and the Whites should ‘protect themselves’ from the competition of Milan and Real Bétis.
