Former Leeds United defender Dario Del Fabro believes his time with the Championship side was valuable in his development.
The young defender recently signed for Juventus, but he will be loaned out to Novara for the season.
TMW reported on yesterday’s press conference when Del Fabro spoke about the other clubs he’s played for before arriving at Novara: “I had an important track that led me to play in Serie A and mature in B, I had the opportunity to get on the pitch also in England with Leeds, so despite my young age I have decent experience.”
Del Fabro was one of many players to arrive at Leeds United from Italy during Massimo Cellino’s early reign at the club, but played just a handful of games during the 2014/15 season.
Cellino and sporting director Nicola Salerno adopted a policy of recruiting from Serie A and B at Leeds United, and that summer the likes of Marco Silvestri, Giuseppe Bellusci and Mirco Antenucci also arrived at Elland Road.
Del Fabro was one of six players controversially left out of Leeds United’s squad by Cellino when they faced Charlton Athletic in 2015. Shortly after the incident the Italian defender exited the club after an unsuccessful loan spell in England.
