Fiorentina have again been linked with Norrköping right back Linus Wahlqvist in the Swedish press. The Serie A side were linked with the Swede in January, along with Leeds United.
Sweden’s Fotboll Transfers have reported Fiorentina are still interested in the Wahlqvist, and could look to move in on the youngster in the next window. The 20-year-old is highly rated in Sweden, and it’s expected he will move abroad sooner rather later.
IFK are under pressure to sell players this summer in order to balance the books, and letting Wahlqvist join another club could bring in much needed revenue.
Leeds United have already tried to sign the right back, making an approach for Wahlqvist last summer. Throughout this season Leeds United have continued to be linked with the youngster in the Swedish media, and it’s expected they’ll again show interest in the next window.
Despite Garry Monk’s side not getting promotion to the Premier League, there’s still some hope as the Swede has in the past stated he’d be interested in playing in the Championship.
Last week there were reports in Sweden that Norrkoping already have a replacement for the defender ahead of a possible transfer this summer.
