Club Brugge have joined the race to sign NEC attacker Anthony Limbombe, according to claims in the Belgian media. The 21-year-old is expected to leave NEC this summer in order to progress his career, and the young Belgian has been linked with a number of clubs, including Leeds United.

HLN have today reported Brugge are planning a double raid on the Dutch league by targeting Ajax’s Ricardo Van Rhijn and NEC’s Limbombe.

The Jupiler league club have just had a windfall by selling Belgium international Thomas Meunier to PSG for €7m, and with that cash they will look to strengthen their squad this summer.

Brugge have a big season ahead after winning the league last season, and will be hopeful of making the group stages of the Champions League.

This will come as a blow to Leeds United who have been tracking Limbombe for the past 12 months, following their attempts to sign the youngster last summer.

Limbombe is keen to leave NEC in this transfer window, and along with Leeds United and Brugge, Lille have also been linked with the player. Its been claimed it would cost as little as €1m to land Limbombe given his current contract situation.
