There’s a claim in the Italian media that Leeds United are interested in Boca Juniors midfielder Nahitan Nandez ahead of the next transfer window.
TMW report a number of clubs are ‘studying’ the option of signing the Uruguay international, and Leeds United are amongst those.
It’s expected the Championship side will face competition from Cagliari, Fiorentina and Sampdoria this summer, with claims the Sardinian club have already made initial contact for the player.
Marcelo Bielsa is likely to be well aware of the 23 year old, given that he plays for such a high profile club in Argentina.
However, given the pedigree of the central midfielder it’s likely Leeds United would have to get promotion to the Premier League to fight off the competition from Serie A.
Nandez has played 20 times for Uruguay since making his debut in 2015 and is contracted to Boca Juniors until June 2020.
Cagliari were also said to be interested in the January transfer window, and at the time Leicester City were linked to the player, which seemed like a ploy to pressure the Sardinians.
