Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu has spoken to the Turkish media about developments at his club, and again the future over Leeds United loanee Caleb Ekuban has been brought up.
In recent weeks there has been speculation surrounding the Leeds United owned player and where he’ll be playing next season.
Agaoglu was asked whether they’ll take up their option to sign the striker before the 31st of May, and his reply was covered by NtvSpor: “Our option for Ekuban is viable until the 31st of May. We are going to use it. But if Leeds United decide to offer us £10m to not to use it, then we will think about that.”
The Trabzonspor president has previously stated that they are in no rush over the situation with Ekuban as they still have time. The Turkish side can make his transfer permanent for just €1m.
Ekuban has been in impressive form for Trabzonspor since the turn of the year and he scored his first international goals with Ghana during the recent international break.
The 24 year old still has two years left on his current Leeds United contract after joining the Elland Road club in 2017 from Chievo Verona.
