Leeds United are closing in on Bristol City defender Luke Ayling, according to Sky Sport News. The Championship side have been busy in this transfer window, and have already made several signings.

Sky Sports have today revealed Ayling looks poised to join up with new Leeds United manager Garry Monk as the former Swansea City boss looks to bolster his defensive options.

Leeds United have been linked with other defenders this summer, and it now seems Ayling is the man to come in.

Ayling came through the famed Arsenal youth academy, but never made a senior appearance for the North London club despite being at the club for eight years.

The 24-year-old got his chance to play regular senior football with Yeovil Town, where he spent four seasons. The defender joined Bristol City in 2014, and has made 80 league appearance for the club.
