Genoa sporting director Giorgio Perinetti has told the Italian media he’s dealt with the contracts of some players, but there’s no update on Aleandro Rosi.
The defender has been linked with a move to Leeds United in the past week, and the Championship side could land the player on a free transfer next summer.
Speaking to TMW, Perinetti was asked about the contract situation the players who need renewing, but failed to give any developments with Rosi: “With Perin we are talking, we have already renewed with Izzo and Laxalt. The club is for sale but is perfectly equipped for the present and the future.”
Last week we covered reports from Italy that Leeds United were interested in Rosi, and they could look to bring in the Italian defender.
Rosi has been in talks with Genoa over extending his contract, but discussions have stalled because the 30 year old wants a three year deal, whilst the Serie A side have offered just two years.
Leeds United will be able to speak to Rosi next week about a pre-contact agreement, and given Perinetti’s comments it seems the left back isn’t close to agreeing a new deal with the Italian club.
