Garry Monk has told the Yorkshire Post Eunan O’Kane is a really good signing for the club following his arrival in the summer. The Republic of Ireland international was one of a number of players to head to Elland Road in the last transfer window.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s clash with Huddersfield Town, Monk was asked about his final signing O’Kane. The Leeds United boss believes the 26-year-old will be beneficial to the squad because of his experience playing in the Championship, and also the quality he will bring to the club.
Monk knows players can no longer play every game, so he thinks O’Kane will also help when rotating his team. “Eunan is a really good signing. He’s already got experience of promotion from this league and he’s a very good player in his own right. He’ll add massive quality to what we do. We can’t rely on guys with zero experience to play 40, 50 games. It’s not fair on them.”
O’Kane joined Leeds United from Bournemouth on transfer deadline day for an undisclosed fee. The midfielder agreed to a two-year deal, but has yet to make his debut for his new club due to the international break.
