The intensity in Leeds United’s pursuit for Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez has clearly decreased over the past few weeks.
There was a time when the player was said to be on his way to Elland Road, but those rumours slowly disappeared, as we now only get to see a few weak stories about Leeds interest.
To confirm that theory, an article from website Calciomercato today comes with strong claims, saying that Leeds United seem to have somewhat given up on the signing.
Their focus is mostly on Inter, who are also said to be interested in Nandez and are ‘attentive’ to his situation in the summer.
Then Calciomercato writes that the midfielder ‘seemed headed for Leeds’, but the Premier League side ‘appear to have let go’ of the signing, which was a Bielsa request, and that’s why Inter will now have a shot at his transfer.
The truth is that other outlets from the Italian media had recently been claiming that Leeds’ interest continues to exist, but now find it unlikely that the English side would pay the €36m requested for the transfer.
