Remember that midfielder Leeds United wanted to sign in the last transfer window but never got? Well, they might have a name ticked for the future already.
While Rodrigo De Paul stayed at Udinese and Michaël Cuisance found himself a loan move to Marseille despite undergoing a medical ahead of a move to Elland Road, Victor Orta and co. appear to have moved on and are looking elsewhere.
This is according to Calciomercato in Italy, who explain as part of an article claiming Milan are interested in Dinamo Zagreb’s Lovro Majer that Leeds United are keeping tabs on the 22-year-old.
Signed from NK Lokomotiva two years ago, the midfielder, who is apparently dubbed the ‘new Luka Modrić’, has become a key part of the Croatian side and is attracting interest from all over Europe.
As well as Milan and Leeds, Valencia, Borussia Dortmund, Fiorentina and Sevilla are all keen on his services, but Calciomercato believe his next step could be San Siro as ‘scouts from Milan will follow with great attention Dinamo Zagreb-Feyenoord in the Europa League’.
Something to keep an eye on going forward, as Marcelo Bielsa still hasn’t got his new midfielder and it wouldn’t be surprising if he was chasing Orta around the training facility with a stick to ensure he gets one in January.
