Leeds United’s move for Willy Gnonto is ‘in limbo’ as the two clubs are yet to agree a price for the defender.
That’s according to Blick, who provide their own information on the youngster’s potential move to Elland Road.
The news outlet explain that despite Gnonto’s future being in the air and there being interest, particularly from Leeds, there are questions about that possible deal.
They state that Leeds have offered 2.5m Swiss Francs (CHF) for the 18-year-old but that is ‘far too little’ for Zurich president Ancillo Canepa, who has been talking about a minimum fee of CHF10m ‘for weeks’.
He believes getting a higher sum for his player is ‘realistic’, especially when it is ‘rich Premier League’ clubs who are chasing his signature.
Even if they were to drop that CHF10m and settle for CHF8m there is a feeling the CHF10m could be met with resale percentages in the future.
At the moment, though, Leeds are not close to matching their demands and the two side are ‘still far apart’ in their valuations, meaning that until they get closer, any move to Leeds is ‘in limbo’.
