You might have seen over the past few weeks the odd rumour linking Leeds United to Club Brugge’s Noa Lang.
The winger, who had a terrific season with the Belgian side on loan from Ajax, scoring 17 goals and assisting another 11 in 37 appearances, has attracted a lot of attention with his performances, including that of Marcelo Bielsa.
Club Brugge have since made the move permanent, paying close to €6m for the player, and yet there has been a lot of talk of them potentially selling him immediately.
There was a worry the Belgian side might be forced to let him go against their will if a team like Leeds put enough money on the table, but that has been dispelled by their manager, Philippe Clément.
Speaking to Sporza, and relayed by Voetbal Nieuws, he said: “Today, we are in a different situation. We can now refuse certain offers. Our strong players will only leave for really large amounts”.
Voetbal Nieuws add their tidbit on the Leeds interest, claiming the Elland Road side had been ‘pulling hard in recent weeks’ to sign Lang.
Well, now they just need to put a ‘really large amount’ on the table to do that.
