Despite being one of the more impressive goalkeepers at the World Cup and in La Liga for a while, Bono has lost his spot at Sevilla.

This, according to Fichajes, could be a boost to the likes of Leeds United, who have been linked with a move for the 32-year-old over the past several months.

Despite having Illan Meslier between the sticks, the Elland Road side could eventually see their prodigy head to a bigger club who play in the top half of the table somewhere, meaning a replacement would be needed.

That’s where the Morocco international would come in, and the fact latest Sevilla manager José Luis Mendilibar has started to prefer Marko Dmitrović as his number one suggests he could change clubs in the summer.

The fact he has been put one the bench has ‘exhausted the patience’ of the player, and he is not ‘willing to assume this new role’, which is great news for Leeds.

That’s why he is ‘looking for an exit destination’ this summer, and Sevilla could end up giving it to him since his contract expires in 2024 making this summer the ‘last opportunity to cash in on his departure’.

That’s a big door opening for Leeds, who could find themselves with needing a new goalkeeper themselves, all depending on who comes knocking for Meslier and how much they would be prepared to pay for him.
