Leeds United’s interest in Angers star Azzedine Ounahi is today again mentioned in the Italian media.
The comments are made by RAI journalist Ciro Venerato on the Terzo Tempo show. There he mostly spoke about Napoli’s chase for the player, and pointed out that the Whites could have strong conditions to win the battle for him.
It first started with Venerato claiming that Ounahi is ‘liked a lot’ by Napoli manager Luciano Spaletti, with the Serie A side offering him a five-year contract.
Then he says the club may not have the financial muscle to get that signing done, as other competitors may pay more, and that includes Leeds.
“The problem is Angers who are asking for €25m. Napoli are offering €15m, including bonuses. Leipzig, Leicester and Leeds are ready to offer more money,” said Veneratto (via Area Napoli).
What plays on Napoli’s side is that Ounahi seems to like the possibility of moving to the Serie A club.
It was reported this week that he’s already given them his ‘availability’ to join them, as he’s keen on the transfer.
So besides finding a deal with Angers, it seems Leeds also need to work on convincing the player of turning down Napoli and moving to Elland Road instead.
