While the avenue leading to Christian Kouamé might have dwindled a little bit over the last few days, that of Leeds’ interest in Erick Pulgar hasn’t.
Elland Road still appears to be the most likely destination for the Chilean midfielder, at least according to the Italian newspapers.
Two of them are in agreement over this on Monday, claiming the interest from Leeds is still very much there.
We’ll start with Corriere Fiorentino, who simply state ‘there continues to be voices about the interest of Leeds for Pulgar’, suggesting those in charge of transfers in Yorkshire are continuously probing their Italian counterparts about a transfer.
Then there’s La Nazione, who state the defensive midfielder’s adventure in Florence ‘seems to be winding down’, adding that ‘Leeds’ proposal is interesting’.
Now, that last bit is a bit vague, because we’re not sure if they mean a move to Elland Road as a whole would be interesting for Pulgar or whether or not Victor Orta and co. have officially made a bid for the Chile international.
Our gut feeling suggests it’s the former, because if an offer had been made, we reckon a whole lot more would have been made about it.
