Left to one side by Luis Enrique for the Euros, Rodrigo Moreno, currently at Leeds United, could get a second chance to feature in the tournament.
The reason for that is the fact that Sergio Busquets has tested positive to Covid-19 days before the start of the competition, and the Spain national team have called up four extra players to train at the camp.
It’s stated, relayed by Mundo Deportivo, the new arrivals will ‘complete training during the next days under Luis Enrique’s order within a parallel bubble’.
That means they will ‘train at different times and will not mix in any case’ with the group already present.
While Brais Méndez was the one called up to make up for Busquets absence, the Leeds forward, Roja Soler and Pablo Fornals were all also called up.
The 30-year-old arrived at Elland Road last summer from Valencia in a very expensive £27m deal, but never managed to fully establish himself under Marcelo Bielsa, starting just over a third of games in the Premier League and scoring seven games and assisting just twice in 28 appearances in all competitions.
