There are two reasons why the Italian media has been very interested in Tottenham Hotspur’s chase for Italian managers.

The first one is, obviously, because they’re Italian. Then there’s also the impact it has in the quest from Serie A clubs for a new coach.

Proof of that comes from the quotes of agent Massimo Brambati. He’s been speaking to Tutto Mercato Web Radio about Maurizio Sarri’s talks to take charge of Lazio, and says Spurs could be delaying their agreement.

“I only know that the president of Tottenham, with Paratici, who not having reached an agreement with Conte, has the spotlight on various managers,” Brambati said.

“I don’t know if this delay depends on Tottenham’s interest in Sarri. I don’t understand why all this delay. These unsigned encounters do not bring Lotito very good news, see what happened with Inzaghi.”

Reports from the Italian media today have also been claiming that Tottenham should soon announce Fabio Paratici as their new football director. Some outlets say he’s even working on new signings for the club, and his arrival will be followed by the announcement of a new manager.

This morning, however, newspaper Corriere Dello Sport claimed there are no contacts from Premier League clubs with Maurizio Sarri.
