Just a few days ago, we covered a story from the Italian media claiming that Leeds United, in search of a centre-back, had focused their attention on Omar Colley.
The Sampdoria defender has been a target of theirs for a few months now, if reports are to be believed, but it appears the Elland Road side have started moving towards getting a deal done.
The previous report claimed a ‘concrete’ step had been made towards acquiring Colley ‘in recent days’, and Il Secolo XIX corroborate that, relayed by SampNews24.
It’s explained Marcelo Bielsa and co. are ‘serious’ about the Gambia international, with their scouts, having watched him, left ‘positively impressed’.
The offer is now ‘ready’, and Sampdoria’s request of €12-13m ‘wouldn’t be a problem’ for the Premier League club, ‘considering higher figures have been spent on far less performing defenders’.
A step in the right direction once again, as it appears Colley could be heading to England’s top-tier in the coming months.
