Having already signed the likes of Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen, Leeds United have started their summer transfer market strongly.
The Premier League side narrowly avoided relegation to the Championship in the final games of the season, and their desire is to avoid a repeat of that next year.
Leeds replaced Marcelo Bielsa with Jesse Marsch in the process, with the new signings reflecting a change in where the club are scouting, and that’s why we are seeing Leeds being linked with players contracted in Austria and Germany.
The latest to be added to that list is Marc Roca, currently at Bayern Munich, with Bild looking a bit more in depth into a rumour that started in England.
The idea here would be for him to replace Kalvin Phillips, who is being sought by bigger clubs, which is where the Spaniard comes in.
Bild point out Roca’s transfer from Espanyol to Bavaria has seen him mostly come off the bench, making 24 appearances in all competitions over the past two years.
This is why he’s ‘on the sales list for Bayern’, who have ‘already informed the player he isn’t good enough for a regular place’.
Therefore, ‘with an offer of around €9m, they would let him go’.
As for Roca, ‘he himself is open to a new beginning’, as he wants ‘significantly more playing time’.
It seems he would get that at Leeds, where Marsch would be interested in working with him.
