Leeds United loanee Diego Llorente is causing some worry to Roma due to his latest injury.
The player left the weekend’s match against Atalanta in tears, as he had a muscle issue in one of the flexors in his left leg, and according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Serie A side scheduled exams for Wednesday to see the ‘extent of injury’.
The outlet claims that Roma currently have a ‘deep concern’ about the situation, since Llorente could end up sidelined in both legs of the Europa League semi finals against Bayer Leverkusen, which will be played on the 11th and 18th of May.
Llorente arrived at Roma in January from Leeds and has ended up becoming an important player in their defence of late despite struggling to initially make the first-team under José Mourinho.
So despite the only eight appearances he made, it’s very possible the Italian club will want him to stay on a permanent deal, although whether they end up paying the pre-agreed €18m remains to be seen.
The latest on that was that Tiago Pinto was more likely to sit down for fresh talks with the Elland Road side rather than agree to trigger the option to buy as it currently stands.
