As first feared when he had to come off after 27 minutes against AC Monza, Leeds United loanee Rasmus Kristensen is going to spend some time on the sidelines.

This is according to Calciomercato.it, who reveal the official news from AS Roma’s side, with the results of the player’s injury tests have come back.

The Leeds man, who is in Italy until the end of the campaign, has suffered a muscle injury to his left thigh, meaning he will miss games.

How many isn’t stated, but the outlet state he will ‘certainly’ be left out of the upcoming game against Fiorentina at the weekend, and could also end up having to sit out the one the week after that against Sassuolo.

If he does, he would then have the international break to get fit and ready for the final run in of the season, also not having to worry about Thursday’s match against Brighton, as he was left out of Roma’s Europa League squad because of financial reasons.

This will be extremely frustrating for the Dane, who will have been hoping to keep impressing Daniele De Rossi, perhaps in hope of securing a permanent move away from Elland Road down the line.

He will now have to ensure he can remain fit for the rest of the season, at which point decisions from all parties will have to be made.

Since joining from Leeds, the defender has made 27 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A club, scoring one goal and assisting another two.
