Despite having a number of men in the role, Leeds United seem to be often linked with a new centre-back, as their reported summer chase for the likes of Omar Colley suggested.

The Gambia international remained at Samdporia for the current season, but that doesn’t mean Marcelo Bielsa, who clearly seems to think an extra body at the back could add needed depth to his squad, has given up on finding the right man.

We say this because Homme Du Match in France are reporting that Leeds are looking at FC Nantes defender Andrei Girotto.

They explain the Brazilian centre-back, who has an Italian passport, was already linked with Bielsa’s side last summer, and ‘remains in the sights’ of the Premier League club for January.

In fact, the 29-year-old ‘continues to interest’ Leeds, who ‘will return to attack’ during the next transfer window.

They even add detail, believing that ‘a bid of €5m is expected to be made’ by the Elland Road side, whose profile ‘perfectly corresponds to the English league’.
