According to De Telegraaf, FC Twente midfielder Mateusz Klich is set for a medical with Leeds United. The Poland international has been linked with a move to the Championship side in recent weeks.
De Telegraaf say Twente have agreed a deal with Leeds United, and the 27-year-old will sign once all the ‘formalities’ have been completed. The reliable Dutch newspaper say Klich is yet to undergo a medical, and that’s the next step for Leeds.
Klich will be the first major signing for Leeds United this summer, and a boost to new manager Thomas Christiansen. The player had been linked to Leeds before Christiansen arrived, but since the coaching appointment the Championship club have upped their efforts to get something done.
Earlier in the week there were reports the English side had put in a bid for the player, which was turned down by Twente. However, it was expected Leeds United would come in with an improved bid for the Polish midfielder.
