Loaned to Lorient last season, Trevor Chalobah caught the eye away from Chelsea in France, which has led to a large number of teams to want him in their squad this season.
L’Equipe are the ones reporting this, as the midfielder starts his pre-season under the orders of Thomas Tuchel at the club, even if the chances of him featuring for the German manager once the season starts are slim.
That’s why the French newspaper expect him to ‘leave the Blues once again’ this season, at least ‘temporarily’, to continue his progression.
Lorient are one of the interested sides and wouldn’t mind having him back for another year, but there is a lot, and we mean a LOT, of competition.
Watford, West Brom and Crystal Palace are the ones in England looking at him, while the list in France is ‘even longer’, with the aforementioned Lorient, Lens and even Montpellier just the few named clubs by L’Equipe.
We’ll have to wait and see what Chelsea and the player plan on doing, but if he enjoyed himself in Ligue 1 last year, why not do it again?
