Tottenham are keeping an eye on Wolfsburg goalkeeper Koen Casteels in case they decide to replace Hugo Lloris this summer.
That’s according to SportBILD journalist Christian Falk, who says the Belgian goalkeeper is on Jose Mourinho’s shortlist of potential replacements.
Lloris is currently in the final year of his contract and will be 35 by the time it expires next summer, which has led to suggestions that Tottenham are on the hunt for a replacement.
Several goalkeepers have been named as possible targets, and we can now add Wolfsburg goalkeeper Casteels to that list.
That has apparently caught Tottenham’s attention, with it stated they are ‘watching’ him ahead of a possible move, a transfer that the Belgian would be more than open to if it was offered.
“Tottenham have been looking at the goalkeeper position. Hugo Lloris is 34, and his contract ends in 2022,” Falk told BILD.
“He is not in dispute, but of course, you have to look at it; it could become a focus of attention.
“They (Tottenham) are watching (Casteels), and we know he would like to go to a top club as he would like to recommend himself to have a chance of going to Qatar with the national team.
“Whether a change comes is questionable because he is still tied until 2024, which means he costs a bit of money, but he is, at least, on the shortlist.”
