France Football are announcing the Ballon d’Or run-down drip by drip, but someone has got hold of the list and put it on social media.
It’s being carried by Marca and others, and by all accounts is the genuine thing. Backing the list up are that it clearly looks like a page from France Football, which will be released this evening, and that so far it’s been spot on.
From 29th into 14th place, the leaked list has everything entirely correct, and given the different permutations it’s impossible for someone to have simply guessed it and got lucky.
Harry Kane has finished in 10th place, with the Tottenham player getting 25 points. Mohamed Salah was the highest placed Premier League player, finishing in 6th with 188 points.
The Tottenham goalkeeper can sleep easy knowing he was France’s World Cup winning captain in the summer. Indeed, the French vote looks split, with no summer hero in the top two.
Those places are taken by Cristiano Ronaldo and former Spurs midfielder Luka Modric, who wins the award.
