Inter Milan fans are still hugely frustrated over Romelu Lukaku’s impending move to Chelsea, so what they really didn’t need on Sunday was to hear claims Lautaro Martinez would be off to Tottenham Hotspur.
As the world was watching Lionel Messi’s goodbye press conference at Barcelona, claims started to emerge from England that Inter had agreed a fee with Tottenham for Martinez.
There were then denials from sections of the Italian media, and more anger and worry from Inter supporters.
FCInter1908 contacted the Argentine’s agent Alejandro Camano, and whilst he didn’t outright deny that a move to Spurs could happen, he very much didn’t talk it up either.
Camano is quoted as saying: “Lautaro is an Inter player and is happy in Italy. The renewal? Lautaro is from Inter, he will never enter into conflict with the club. Never, this is reality.”
There had earlier been claims from Italy that the player wasn’t keen on a move to English football, and that if he was to leave Inter and Serie A then La Liga would be his choice.
SportMediaSet report Inter have denied it all, yet there’s still some doubt in Italy due to the financial situation at the club.
TMW back that up, covering claims that Inter value Martinez at €90m and would open talks for that amount.
